What it does not prove
- This abstract describes a planned study design and does not report any results, so it provides no evidence of efficacy or safety outcomes
- The non-inferiority design does not establish that either intervention improves sarcopenia; it only compares relative performance between two active treatments
- Results from the 6-month and 12-month assessments have not been provided, making it impossible to determine whether the study's objectives were met
Extracted from supplied source material; model confidence is not a measured probability of correctness.

participants will be randomly assigned to Yijinjing or resistance training
240 adults aged 50 years or older with sarcopenia
For the first 6 months, participants will be randomly assigned to Yijinjing or resistance training
The main question is whether Yijinjing improves physical performance at 6 months by an amount that is not meaningfully worse than resistance training. Physical performance will be measured using the Short Physical Performance Battery
Assessments at baseline, 6 months and 12 months will examine muscle mass and strength, physical function, quality of life and other health measures. Exercise-related adverse events will be monitored throughout the 12-month intervention
