Dasatinib and quercetin reduced radiation-induced atrial fibrillation in mice via senescence pathway suppression
This preclinical study used mice exposed to 20 Gy cardiac irradiation to investigate radiation-induced atrial fibrillation. Irradiation triggered DNA damage, cellular senescence, and atrial remodeling through GATA4-NF-κB signaling. Treatment with the senolytic combination dasatinib and quercetin suppressed this pathway, reduced senescence markers, and reversed atrial remodeling with decreased susceptibility to atrial fibrillation.
