Exercise training evaluated for skeletal muscle mass changes and prognosis prediction in head and neck cancer patients; prospective study
A prospective study planned to enroll 60 head and neck cancer patients (30 experimental, 30 control) to examine whether exercise training after chemoradiotherapy changes skeletal muscle mass measured by dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry and CT imaging, and whether these changes associate with systemic inflammatory markers and cancer prognosis. Patients in the experimental group received 36 exercise training sessions with pre- and post-intervention measurements of muscle mass and inflammatory biomarkers.
