Emotional neglect trauma associated with lower Klotho and cognitive deficits in adolescents with mood disorders: observational study.
This observational study enrolled 95 adolescents with bipolar or major depressive disorder and 45 healthy controls, identifying three trauma-based subgroups through cluster analysis. Adolescents in the emotional neglect-focused trauma group had lower serum Klotho levels, higher MMP-9 levels, and worse performance on working memory and executive function tests compared to other groups and controls.
